Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Gridley iOS and iPad app.

What Data We Collect

We never ask for or store your Instagram password. Connecting works through the official Instagram API.

For convenience, we may store minimal public profile info such as your name and username.

Gridley only collects the following:

Anonymous analytics data to understand how people use the app and make it better.
Crash reports to fix bugs and improve stability.
A secure access key (token) for automatic posting when this feature becomes available. It is stored encrypted and used only for publishing.

How We Use This Data

Analytics and crash reports are used solely to improve app performance and the overall user experience.

Social media data is accessed only through official API integrations for app functionality and is never transmitted to our servers.

Third-Party Services

The following services may process data according to their own privacy policies:

Firebase — analytics and crash reporting.
Google Analytics — website usage insights.
AppHud — subscription management.

Data Storage & Security

We store only the minimum data needed for Gridley to work. We do not store Instagram passwords. If automatic posting requires an access key (token), it is stored encrypted.

Anonymous analytics are stored by third-party providers (Firebase, Google) per their own policies.
Any access key for automatic posting, if stored, is kept encrypted.

Data Deletion

You can delete your Gridley account and all data stored in it directly in the app.

Open Gridley → Settings → Delete Account, then confirm.

Once deleted, your account and related data are permanently removed. This action cannot be undone.

Anonymous analytics are not linked to individual users and cannot be selectively removed.

Children's Privacy

Gridley is not directed at children under 13 years old and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Gridley is available worldwide, including in the EU and California.

Since no personal data is collected, there are no GDPR or CCPA data deletion requests to fulfil.

API Integrations

Gridley uses the official Meta (Instagram) API to connect social accounts.

Instagram data is used to power features via the official API. In most cases it is handled in the app. When automatic posting becomes available, Gridley may use a stored secure access key (token) to publish content on your behalf.

Facebook and Instagram may collect data independently according to their own privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
